Welcome to the Phytofactories 2025 website!

Phytofactories 2025, an international conference on Plant Molecular Farming, hosted by the Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology (LIST), will take place from 18 to 20 June 2025 in Luxembourg.

Following the success of Phytofactories 2023, where more than 100 attendees joined us in Luxembourg, we are thrilled to announce this second edition! This conference is a pivotal moment as we also celebrate the creation of the International Association for Plant Cell Culture Research, a dedicated community that we hope will grow over time and foster collaboration on the study and applications of plant cell cultures.

Phytofactories 2025 is centred on the exploitation of plant diversity using cell and tissue cultures and aims to cover the valorization chain of plant resources. It will bring together experts in the production and characterization of specialized plant metabolites, as well as those applying this knowledge in dedicated pilot processes. Therefore, topics such as the establishment and optimization of plant cell and tissue cultures, metabolite characterization will be discussed together with the latest innovations in bioprocessing and metabolic engineering.

Call for interest to be the next host

We invite universities and other research institutions worldwide to express their interest in hosting the next Phytofactories conference in 2027. This is a unique opportunity to showcase your institution's commitment to cutting-edge research in the field of plant molecular farming and to play a central role in shaping the future of plant-based innovations.

To express your interest in hosting the next event, please submit a pitch of 1-2 slides explaining where you plan to host it and why you wish to organize it (contact: phytofactories2025@list.lu).

A session will be organized during Phytofactories 2025 in which applicants will make their pitch, followed by a vote.

Join us as we continue to explore new frontiers, share groundbreaking research, and build lasting partnerships. Stay tuned for more details, and don't miss your chance to be part of this exciting journey!
