Phytofactories 2025, an international conference on Plant Molecular Farming, hosted by the Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology (LIST), will take place from 18 to 20 June 2025 in Luxembourg.
Please find below the topics & focuses.
- Advances in callogenesis, hairy root formation and plant regeneration: All aspects related to the early development of plant production systems will be covered here.
- Plant factories to produce speciality molecules: Here, the session will cover many new technologies aiming to produce added value product (secondary metabolites, proteins, etc…) for industrial applications.
- Process optimization: In this session, aspects related to the optimized culture of plants, plant cells or hairy roots to name but a few will be covered. These may include fermentation modality, sugar source, medium recipe, elicitation, upscaling, etc…
- Challenges and prospects in phytofactories: This session will introduce cutting edge technologies such as co-culture, extracellular vesicle production, industrial processes, novel food, space-related research, etc…
- Plant genome editing and metabolic engineering: This session will bring together experts in plant metabolic engineering, e.g., for the production of specific added-value compounds.
- Germplasm preservation technologies: This topic will focus on techniques for plant in vitro propagation and cryopreservation.
